Townsend is a short story about life after the event. It is set in the year 2045.
Townsend
It was almost twenty years after the solar flash when Townsend a stocky man with a handlebar moustache, sat down in the auditorium for the upcoming Astrology class. Ten years ago the World Council had deemed Astrology a mandatory class for people graduating from University.
They stated that Astrology is a fundamental science for people to use in the betterment of their lives. But, because it had been demonized by the global elite through the churches, many people still were hesitant to use it. So, the council decided to make it an essential course for all graduates.
Townsend only had to finish this course and he would become a doctor of Celestial Mechanics and work full time at the space elevator in Sao Paulo Brazil. He was looking forward to this class and used Astrology in his daily life, when he had time after work and his homework was all done.
Kyrou, one of his good friends from Vancouver, was an Astrologist, who from the time they first met insisted on making a relationship chart. Her exact words were, “From my perspective, starting a relationship without a relationship chart is like throwing a dart at a dartboard and expecting a bullseye, when many darts never hit the board.”
Fortunately for both of them, the chart showed that they had many strong linkages. Unfortunately Venus was conflicted so they never became lovers, but, he appreciated how quickly the science could show results. He had kept up a casual interest in the practice ever since, and urged everyone to study it if they wanted to have great timing and form meaningful relationships that benefit both people.
Now, four years later, he was looking forward to learning more about Astrology so he would be able to take advantage of better timing.
He was interrupted in his thoughts by a woman wearing a rainbow polka dotted dress sitting down next to him. She gave him a wide smile and was taller than him, with red shoulder length hair and hazel eyes.
She would be a distraction; a beautiful distraction, and if this would have been a more complex class he would have moved.
When the professor came onto the stage he made a statement; dressed in plum purple suit completed by a fedora.
Both Townsend and the red head chuckled. Townsend took out a lined notebook and a freshly sharpened pencil and waited.
Townsend shook his head and smiled as he heard the woman mutter, “You don’t see that every day. I wonder if he has a slide rule?”
Then he laughed and said “Good afternoon. Never used a slide rule, and to quell your curiosity, I find that taking notes with a pencil allows me to remember complex data a lot easier.”
“Interesting, you do know that the professor sends out a summary of what has been taught in this class.” she whispered.
“Of course, handy, but summaries keep you in a box.” He always wanted to be thinking out of the box, though sometimes people just thought he was odd.
“Before we get started.” said the professor, in a droll that Townsend was sure would almost put him to sleep. “I want us all to welcome Emily Green. Please stand up, Emily Green.”
When the redhead seated next to him stood up, Townsend gasped. It was quite an honour to be this close to a privileged person.
After Emily Green sat back down, the professor continued. “ “Today I want to focus on relationships and this class will be on personality. Can anyone tell me the personality planets?”
Some man in a row below them answered. “The sun sign, ascendant and the moon.”
“Correct, now I would like everyone to introduce yourself to the person next to you who is of the opposite sex, then you can exchange your personality planets.”
Townsend could count on two hands how many times he had met a privileged and hesitated before he introduced himself, then said, “My name is Townsend, it is an honour to meet you Emily Green.”
She frowned and said “Nice to meet you Townsend and please don’t treat me any different because of my upbringing.”
Emily Green then opened her tablet and brought up the composite chart they would be using. She inputted her date of birth, time, and birth place, then handed the tablet to Townsend. When he was finished he handed the tablet back and she pushed the display button. In front of them was a 3D astrological chart. Showing all the houses, planets and signs.
“Once you have the composite chart up, determine whether your relationship will work, I will give you 10 minutes.”
They examined Townsends chart first. Townsend’s sun was in Scorpio, with his rising sign in Aquarius and moon in Cancer.
“No fire in you Townsend.” said Emily and then added “Okay as you can see, my sun is Aquarius, with Gemini rising and a Libra moon.”
Townsend laughed. “And you are an air head. However, my ascendant, and your sun are in Aquarius. I believe we have the basis of a relationship.”
“Maybe, but what about the square between our suns?”
“Yes, I am glad to see you have knowledge of Astrology it will make conversing about it easier. Now do our Aquarius connection get canceled out by our square? I think that would be a good question to ask the professor.” said Townsend.
“Good idea.” said Emily Green and then addressed the professor, and explained their situation.
The professor smiled. “That is an excellent question Emily Green, and in this case you would look to where Venus is placed on the chart. If your Venus’s are in conflict, which for this class, means in square or opposition, then it is not good. With your planetary planets in harmony you might think the same, but you will not show love in the same way. Most often what is the case is one person shows love by hugging and kissing, the other does not often demonstrate that love.
Townsends Venus was in Sagittarius and Emily Greens was in Aquarius which meant their Venus’s were harmonious. “They are sextile to each other.” Emily Green said.
Townsend whispered. “Well that’s fantastic!”
They learned that the worst possible relationship involved a T-square and Townsend was just about to leave when Emily Green said “How would you like to try something different tonight Townsend? I am hosting a 13 moon peace party at my place and would love to have you come over. Most of my friends are like you, and the rest of the world.” She rolled her eyes “I am so tired of the prima donna’s the privileged have become.”
Later that evening Townsend entered the courtyard of the Emily Green’s fraternity house and saw her standing out on the balcony, with a glass of red wine in her hand.
She smiled when they saw each other and said. “Glad you could make it Townsend.”
Townsend learned that his galactic signature was a red crystal serpent, and that Emily Green was a blue galactic eagle, which they soon learned was important as they shared the same wavespell.
He met lots of people and left the party thinking about Emily Green and the Galactic calendar. Emily had communicated to him in various ways that when you became a galactic person, privilege does not matter, and at times it was more of a hindrance.
She was put on a pedestal just because of their Grampa’s accomplishments and now she felt like it was a backwards step, stepping back to a time when athletes, movie stars and the global elite had been idolized because of status and the money they made.
Emily Green was not like the other kids of stature, she only cared about becoming a galactic citizen and one day traveling to the stars.
Townsend put that all behind him as he entered the dorm. Tomorrow was going to be a busy day, with work at the space elevator in the morning and then an Astrology class with Emily Green. He shook his head as a final thought invaded his mind before sleep. As much as he wanted to call her Kin 147, he was unable to get around the idea that she would want be called anything but Emily Green. He dreamed of her hazel eyes and soft lips that it was a privilege to kiss.
Four months later
The day was fast approaching when Kin 25 would finish his Astrology class and work full time at the space elevator. He would be plotting out the orbital mechanics needed for the elevator that stretched from the ground in Sao Paolo Brazil to the Lagrange point, which was the point where the gravity of the moon and earth were equal.
Kin 25 and kin 147 met just outside of the entrance to the building after lunch and talked about the dinner they had with the other kin the night before. The waiter a friend of theirs had imitated a waiter from a great movie a few years ago and the kin were all laughing.
When he reminded her of the waiter she frowned and her eyes became more intense. Townsend turned around and saw a tall man walking towards them. He was dressed in a blue sports jacket and walked with a quick stride.
“Henry, what are you doing here, I thought you were playing in Miami today.” said Emily.
“It was postponed, because of some tropical storm. Who is this Emily?!” Demanded Henry as he looked Townsend up and down.
“This is Kin 25 also known as Townsend. He…”
She was cut off by Henry, who was now sneering at Townsend. “So you’re still fooling around with that calendar, Emily?”
“Honestly Henry, I thought you would want to follow Grampa’s lead. The Galactic calendar only makes sense. Townsend…”
He interrupted her once again and Townsend was starting to really dislike the man.
“Is this is your newest protege Emily? What happened to Everett for God’s sake? He was one of us?”
“His mother threatened to cut off his funding. I’m sorry to drag you into this Kin 25, but my privileged people believe they still need to be looked up to and worshiped. Even it has been 20 years since the event.”
Henry sneered, shook his head and sniped. “Do what you want sister, but think about our family. If you want to be with this nobody, don’t come crying to me when you are powerless!” He then turned and stormed away.
Townsend watched Henry walk away. “Wow, are you sure your from the same family. Hey, are you talking about Everett Stark?”
“Yes how do you know him?” said Emily Green.
“He works at the orbital elevator with me. We’re actually on opposite days. He and I graduated last year. When I finish the Astology if I am lucky I will work at the elevator full time, that is if Everett doesn’t get it, even though he had a lower standing. Speaking of the job after class I have to to work.”
When he arrived after class he found out that there were no orbital calculations to do today as the elevator was approaching the launch window. Instead of calculations he had to do the final last inspection of the containers. Twenty containers the size of rail cars were being sent to the moon, and he needed to make sure the cargo was lashed down and the inventory was correct.
Townsend had just finished the last container filled with crates of food and and on his way out when the outer door slammed shut.
He knew immediately that this was no accident.Sao Paulo had frequent strong winds that could come up in an instant, so protocol was to wedge the door open so what happened did not happen, and he was sure he had put the wedge in, because he had given it a kick and hurt his toe.
He was terrified that whoever did this would give the all clear signal, and he would be trapped and on his way to the moon.
A short time later he felt the jarring movement of the container moving towards the elevator. The container had no windows, so all he could do was to think about who the perpetrator was and what he was going to do for nineteen hours, when he arrived at LaGrange.
The elevator was completely automatic, and was similar to a gigantic chairlift. The containers were pushed into place by a loader and then picked up by the elevator. The elevator was open ended so the container just slid off the platform at Lagrange, and then across to another elevator that followed the same process to transfer the container to the moon.
When the motion stopped almost two days later Townsend became very anxious that they would just open the container, and there would not be enough air, and seconds later when he couldn’t keep his eyes open, he panicked.
Sao Paulo next day
Emily Green was surprised when Townsend missed his class she went over to his place to see if he was sick. When she went inside she realized he never slept there that night. The note she had left was still on the bed.
She wonder
ed if Everett Stark knew where Townsend was and translocated over to his place. Everett opened the door and he never smiled like he usually would. “Emily what are you doing here?”
“I was wondering if you know where Townsend went?”
“Saw him last night after work at the elevator. He left early for some reason.”
“Oh, okay thanks Everett.” she said and then was shocked when he turned around and went back into the house.
Emily Green shook her head and walked back to the street. Then she thought about the exchange they just had, and wondered why Everett had lied. Townsend and Everett worked on opposite shifts, and Everett would not keep eye contact when he lied.
Lagrange Point
Townsend regained consciousness and looked up to see two people looking down at him. Seeing the stark walls of white and a heart monitor off to the side, he guessed he was in an emergency room.
A man dressed in a uniform with a crescent moon insignia said, “Good to see you are finally awake Mr. Townsend.I am the Commander of this station. How are feeling?”
“Okay, I guess. Am I on the moon?”
“No, you are at Lagrange Point. Do you have any explanation to what happened and how you got trapped in that container? You don’t know how many treaties you violated when you stowed away in that container Mr. Townsend.”
“I am very aware of the treaties Commander.” Then he explained what had taken place over the last 2 days. The Commander just nodded and then left the room.
The doctor who had been standing beside the Commander said, “Everything looks normal Mr. Townsend, however, we would like you to stay in bed until the Commander figures out what to do with you.”
A short time later, the Commander and a woman with short black hair entered the room.
The Commander looked at Townsend and said “Do you have a first name, Townsend?”
“Gabriel, though it feels really strange to tell anybody that name, besides family.”
“Well Gabriel, on the moon we are all equals. Now, do you know who could have shut you in that container? And why were you in the container?” asked the Commander.
“I have no idea, it was my job to check out the container, make sure everything was lashed down and when finished I close the container and lock it down. That is my job when I am not doing orbital calculations.”
The woman standing beside the Commander nodded and said, “If I may have a word with you commander.”
“As you wish. Be brief as I don’t have a lot of time before the conference.” He said and then led her out of the room into the corridor.
“So, what are your thoughts Irma?”
The woman stood with her back against the wall and said, “First of all, he is telling the truth. Secondly, I sense that just before he arrived at the elevator, he had an intense conversation with two people. This brought Gabriel a lot of mixed emotions.”
‘That’s great, we already know that he is a postgraduate student who takes one course, Astrology at Sao Paulo university.”
“Very good Jeffry. So that in all probability was his last location. I sense there is a woman in his life that is a complex relationship.”
He was just about to walk away when he turned to her and said “I wonder if there is anybody looking for him beside his family?”
“I will contact Singer, and see if he has heard or sensed anything. There is one woman of interest that is in his Astrology class. She is a privileged and sits right beside him in the class.”
“That would make any relationship complex.” Grant smiled and then reentered Townsends room.
When commander Grant walked back into the room, Gabriel had an intense look on his face.
Something concerning you Gabriel?
“A lot of things. I am just running what happened before I went to the elevator complex.”
“Okay, let me know if you figure out anything. I am just going to a conference and will be back when it is done.” He said and turned away to walk away.
Gabriel said, “Commander am I in trouble?”
“No, we don’t know what happened, however we do know you couldn’t have closed the container door. Now while I am gone I will send somebody to show you around Lagrange.”
Commander Grant and the rest of his senior staff took a transporter to the moon. The transporter pad was just outside the door of the conference room. When Grant entered the room he scanned the chairs that hovered high above the floor. He was looking for Jolene his wife. He saw her talking with one of her friends Abel and sent her a telepathic message. “I might be late coming home today, I have another conference on Earth after this one.”
“I was afraid of that, we will have to play Pebble’s Beach next week.”
Tonight was golf night, and they played the best courses on Earth, just for fun.
Grant went to the front of the conference room along with Irma Stang and took their seats.
Gipol the President of the moon had been a research Scientist on Jupiter when Maldek was destroyed twenty six thousand years ago. He had been directed to go to Terra and put in place a firmament that would keep the aliens that destroyed the planet from coming to Earth and taking it over. The moon was a vessel and put into place the 3D matrix to keep the people safe, until they reached a high enough vibration to no longer need it.
Gipol was a humanoid that stood nine feet tall. One of his companions was a magenta dragon, who was able to shift sizes. Manx was perched on Gipol’s left shoulder and was at his smallest size, which was two and a half feet tall.
“Commander Grant what have you to tell this council.” said Gipol.
Grant informed the council of what had happened over the last few days, and the dragon adjusted his perch. His eyes growing more intense. Gipol head butted the closest dragon wing and made some musical sound. Then he nodded his head.
“Alright Commander, until this matter is dealt with there will be no more shipments going up or down the elevator. I have talked to President Makay and after this meeting we will transport down to Veintende. Please meet me with the young man in your charge.”
When Grant walked in to the observation room with a spectacular view of Earth Townsend was mesmerized, and never even saw the Commander.
“I never tire of looking at Earth, unfortunately we have a meeting to go to on Earth.” the Commander said.
Townsend walked with the Commander out into the corridor and they walked down to small room, with a transporter pad. Even though Townsend had used a transporter many times, stepping onto the pad made him uneasy and he closed his eyes.
Seconds later the Commander touched his arm and Townsend opened his eyes. They walked a hallway for a short time and then entered an immense room.
It was the size and shape of a hockey arena, and there were chairs on the floor and there were also people sitting in chairs high above the floor. Grant motioned for Townsend to sit in one of the chairs and then he sat in one beside him.
“Push the red button on your right side Gabriel.” Grant said and when the chair began to rise Townsend put a death grip on the arms of the chair. And then eased up when the Commander laughed. “This is pretty cool Commander, but where is the seat belt?”
“No need, there is a mini forcefield surrounding the entire chair and whoever is in it. The reason for the floating chairs is so people can see the giant display on the floor.”
Grant looked over at the four people who floated a couple of feet higher than the others. Fiona McKay, was a white woman who had a key part of the Apartheid movement with Nelson Mandela. She was very familiar to him, because of the amount of time he spent on the moon. Born in Cape Town South Africa almost one hundred years ago she had to escape to the moon in 2012 when the dark state was removing all the worlds leaders opposing them. It was at that time that McKay was chosen to head Earth’s first World Council and for her own safety and the future of Earth immigrated to the moon, where she lived until the event happened.
A ten foot hologram floated above President McKay, and despite being over ninety years old, because of age regression she looked like she was thirty. She was a beautiful woman with black hair that was draped over her left shoulder and hung just above her breast.
The President smiled, “Nice to see everyone in attendance, however I wish this matter was just normal business. As most of you know we have a serious concern to address. For those of you who are not aware of what transpired two days ago, Vice President Novalny will brief you.”
Just as Novalny explained what happened to Townsend, the Commander recieved a text message.
After the Commander looked at it he said, “There was a woman named Emily Green in Sao Paulo that we know you spent time with over the last week. What can you tell me about her Gabriel?
Townsend described in detail the relationship he and Emily Green had over the last four months, and the Commander said, “That explains a lot, thank you for being so forthright.”
Over the next 2 hours, the conference heard testimony from many experts and listened to Townsend and Grant as they gave their testimony.
At the end of the conference, everyone knew that Henry Green had used his influence to lock Townsend in the container. He was assisted by Everett Stark, another privileged who had ties to both Emily Green and Henry Green.
President Mckay took the podium and for a long moment just closed her eyes, when she opened them she said. “Thank you everyone, I believe that this incident has violated the rights of the moon, and they should have the final say. However, since the people in question are from Earth, and there was no actual damage other than to Gabriel Townsend, I would like to have the chance to speak with each one of them, including Emily Green. With three privileged involved there is no question that the prosecuting of Henry Green and Everett Stark would set a precedence.
McKay was talking to Gipol as they walked out and when they saw Grant they walked over.
“Please bring Gabriel Townsend to my meeting room Jeff. I will have the Green’s and Stark escorted there. President Gipol, you may sit in if you wish Gipol, Alexi will join us as well. Once he has finished the arrangements for the Green’s” said president McKay.
“That would please me Fiona. Yes, we will attend.” Said Gipol and Grant knew that Gipol was talking about his dragon Manx. They were never seen separately, and had been together for thousands of years.
Grant led Townsend into a lounge where the Presidents were talking quietly. Townsend wondered what he should do and then a middle aged woman with black hair tied up into a bun came over to him “Would you like something to drink sir?” she asked in very good English
She was dressed in a dress that wrapped around her body tightly and went down to just above her ankles. “What would you suggest, I am a bit tired of water.
“If you like coffee, I would recommend a coconut milk latte.”
“That would be great, thank you.” said Townsend and smiled back when she smiled. Later he found out that the dress was called a sinh.
The drink was delicious and Townsend was starting to relax when a small man entered, he was dressed in a gold silk shirt and a dark green dress, that was like a kilt and whispered to president McKay.
The president got up and said, “The Green’s and Stark are in the east meeting room Commander. Please escort Mr Townsend there.
When Gabriel entered the meeting room he saw Emily Green and her brother Henry. Emily rushed over to him. I am so sorry for what Henry did to you Townsend. She said with tears in her eyes.
“Please Emily, my name is Gabriel. Everyone here uses that name or Mr Townsend to address me. It makes me feel good to hear my name.”
I am sorry. Gabriel, that is one of the reasons why I followed the Galactic calendar, so I could call you more than Townsend.
“Really why did you not call me Gabriel when we are alone?”
“I don’t know, it is really weird, I called someone by their full name one time and they told me I don’t have the right. Even though we are close, we are not family.”
“I’m sorry Emily, there are people that are upset, angry that they are less than the privileged, no matter what they do.”
Emily looked so sad it hurt him and not knowing what else to do he gave her a hug and it felt right, and he lost track of time and where they were. When they finished their hug and separated, they became aware of eight eyes focused on them. Not surprisingly, her brother’s eyes were intense, with no sign of remorse.
President McKay smiled, “I will let you two compose yourselves while we talk to Green and Stark. There is a reading room through that door she ported towards an archway.”
Gabriel entered the room first and saw hanging bamboo chairs. He sat in one and kept his feet on the ground. Emily sat in one and assumed the lotus position. She then closed her eyes.
Gabriel waited for a minute for her to open her eyes and then when that didn’t happen. He whispered “Emily.”
She smiled then opened her eyes. “I was afraid of losing you Gabriel. I know the struggles you have had to make and I know that you were able to set those differences aside, which is amazing, because I know from experience not many people could follow your lead.”
“It was close Emily, for the first time I came upon something, someone that I desperately wanted to have, but because of the class system that was imposed on us, fairly or unfairly, it does not matter, you were beyond my reach, and I felt that any day now some man who was privileged would take you away from me.”
When he looked over at Emily she was quietly crying. “I know it is hard to believe Gabriel, but privilege does not matter to me. If we decided to get married, I would, in a heart beat become one of the unprivleged.”
They were both crying when president Makay came into the room. “I knew you loved each other from the moment I saw you together. Once you have freshened up please come into the main meeting hall.”
Gabriel was waiting outside of the washroom door for Emily, and when she came out he hugged her tightly and said, “I am never going to let you go again.” Then he gave her a quick kiss and dropped his arms, held out his hand for Emily to take and silently thought “Henry, be damned this is the one I love, and I will show him what love is.”
When they entered the room Henry Green was not there. In his place was another man who looked thirty.
“Grampa.” said Emily and dropped Gabriels hand, and then instead of going to her Grampa turned and held out her hand again. “Grampa, I would like you to meet Gabriel, the man I love. Gabriel this is Stanley Green”
Her Granmpa smiled and held out his hand and said, “Welcome to the family Gabriel. I apologize for what my grandson did to you. He is going to learn some hard lessons, lessons that will make him grow into the man he was supposed to be. If I had known what a detriment it would be to the growth of the families who said no, I would have been reluctant to take the title of privileged.” Gabriel was speechless, this was the first time he had met one of the people who stood up and took a stand against being forced to do something.
“I am happy to meet you Stanley Green, I look forward to sharing some wisdom with you.”
“Stanley, I am sure this day has so many mixed emotions, and you have our thanks. However, there is, as you know, another subject the council would like to explore. You may stay and take in the meeting if you wish. In fact it may be helpful to our fact finding mission to hear what you have to say.” said president Makay.
“Emily and Gabriel we would like to talk to you about another subject. This is Vice President Alexi Novalny and he was the leader of the opposition party that exposed Vladimir Putin. He almost paid for this defiance with his life, and had to immigrate to Germany when he was poisoned.”
He has some questions for you. But before we do so, I will close off the inquiry and the sentencing of Henry Green and Everett Stark.”
“Both Green and Stark are no longer privileged. They can not leave this planet or travel to the moon or beyond for a period of 5 years. Green will also undergo some sort of therapy, to be determined in one month’s time. They will also be monitored for the rest of their lives.”
Alexi Novalny was a tall man with broad shoulders. Gabriel was aware of the intensity of his eyes, and knew without a doubt that this man was very intelligent. “Let me begin by saying this council is grateful for what happened to Gabriel Townsend. Not for what was done, that could have been a disaster. No, this gave the council reason to make changes to a honouring that has gone way out of proportion to what was intended. You see, the earth council has been seen slow erosion of society because of that lack of equality. Most of the world’s councils are made up of privileged, and they have seen a hierarchy being established, and it is something every person on the councils has fought to overcome.
All of the councils worldwide are demanding that we put an end to the honouring of the privileged. This inquiry I am about to have with Emily and Gabriel we have been assured by the Galactic Council will be just and will give this world council the information needed to make the changes needed.
Gabriel we would like to know what attracted you to Emily. We can all see that she is beautiful so other than that please.
Gabriel thought for a moment and then said, “Emily Green had a different of idea of how to relate as a person. She has quick witt. She is also a quick judge of character, as we had only known each other for an hour and she invited me to her 13 moon peace calendar party. She got me interested in something that I had never heard of and it made complete sense to me; or I should say, most of it did. There was also a lightness to her that made me feel like she did not care about her status, and I slowly understood that she wished she was not hindered by the status. She wanted to be the top of the class, because she had the top marks, not because she was privileged”
“Very good Gabriel. Emily could you answer the same question.” said Vice President Novalny
“There was so many reasons I was attracted to Gabriel, but the biggest reason was that he was willing to try something new. He reminded me of my Grampa. He thought out of the box and really did not care what others thought. I was amazed at how much thought he put into the calendar, and had a great interest in wavespells.”
“Thank you Emily, from what you have both told me it seems that the common factor for both of you is taking chances.
The Galactic Federation have told us that the real number of people who should be privileged is around ten thousand. Those were the ones who knew that something did not make sense in the pushing of the vaccination. These are the people who knew that they were powerful enough to fight a virus with their own body.”
We interviewed every one of the privileged that we could over the past few years. We only asked one question.
“Given all the rewards the privilege gained for their choice, would they want to become people of privilege?”
“Every person wished that the extravagant rewards had not been given. Their families took advantage of everything they could. It became abundantly clear to this council that because the privileged was at the head of the class, or got the job automatically, even if they were less qualified it had eroded society. People who had made tremendous effort to be at the top of their field were second best or lower. We have always known that it is the people who have had to study the hardest, who finish tenth in the class were the ones that became the best at their field, because they never gave up.”
There were many more questions for Emily and Gabriel to answer during that day. At the end of the proceedings Emily said. “When you know you will be first, it kind of takes a mystery out of life. However, that was not the biggest problem for us elite who wanted to become more. I have known very few elite who have any sense of an altruistic nature. And this above all made me feel disadvantaged, because there was no goals to reach, when you stand on top and look down at those below you and know your there because of circumstance.
President Makay said, “Thank you Emily, every one of the privileged made the simple choice to believe their body was sacred, and some did it because they were anarchists, some were not well in so many ways. Some were so terrified to leave their houses they never went out to get the vaccine.”
“Before the event people separated each other by labels. They wanted to eliminate genders and put each of us in classifications and then working on those biases, exclude others.”
One of the biggest mandates of these councils was to bring about a state where every human being, regardless of gender, skin colour, or sexual preference was treated the same.
Because of the worldwide need to acclaim the unvaccinated we were waylaid from the start. And we gave in and made those people special, despite most of that groups distaste of the honour. Finally we see our error and because of this incident and other reasons we can now end the privileged class.”
Gabriel raised his hand
“What would you like to say Gabriel?” Do you have it in your power to recommend that everyone uses their galactic signature as a designate?”
“That is a great question. The council have wondered why people did not adopt her own signatures when the 13 moon calendar replaced Gregorian calendar. This is a good idea and I think it is within our mandate.
Gipol stood up, “ I may suggest the simple fact that the galactics came up the with the calendar for a very similar reason. Only the separation was across thousands of worlds.”
President McKay said “Do you believe that we can bring in a ruling across among the councils to promote the 13 moons or would it be overextending our reach.”
“On Jupiter they brought in the calendar because it made sense, however, there was never the darkness you have faced.” said Gipol.
Novalny said “What if we hold a referendum and have all the councils vote?”
“Alexi that is a great idea, but we both know that the only way to become full galactic citizens is to have the same calendar all the same universal laws. So whether it happens now in ten years it will still have to happen.” President Makay said.
“Yes, however Fiona, we can have the council recommend action and then transition will take place by way of the people just adopting it, and they will. No force will be needed. People will be willing to change, they will be willing to become Galactic citizens.
